Covid-19 update for tenants and partners

Covid-19 update for tenants and partners

At Care Housing Association we prioritise the safety of our staff, tenants and their friends and support staff, ahead of everything else. At the same time we want to deliver the best services possible to ensure our homes are happy and safe places to live. The latest Government guidance has unavoidably had a significant effect on the services we provide. I wanted to update you all on what this means to our tenants.

  • To ensure their safety, and that of people we work with and on behalf of, our housing staff are all working in isolation and are unable to attend any visits. However we are still available to call 24 hours a day on 03454377367.
  • Our repairs contractors are only carrying out emergency repairs. All non-emergency repairs are still being logged and will¬† be resolved when safe to do so.
  • For those tenants who receive repairs to white goods, this service is temporarily suspended, though will be reviewed in 3 weeks’ time.
  • Our grounds maintenance service is temporarily suspended, subjec to further review.
  • Hydraclean, our water treatment and testing contractor, is still operating as normal to ensure homes are safe and free from Legionella. However, they have stringent measures in place to ensure they adhere to Government guidelines regrding social distancing and health and safety.
  • All areas of compliance, e.g. PAT, gas servicing, electrical inspections and smoke alarm testing are up to date and continue to operate. This is subject to change and tenants will be notified accordingly.

We will continue to provide as comprehensive a service as possible in these difficult times and ask our tenants and partners to bear with us where services may not be as frequent as you have become accustomed to. Likewise, if you have any concerns, or anyone within our properties displays symptoms of Covid-19, please let us know immediately by calling 03454377367.

Finally, I wish you all the best over the coming weeks and months and ask that you make sure to follow wider Government and Public Health advice.

Take care,

Matthew Eddisford

Chief Executive, Care Housing Association
