At Care, part of our remit is to provide bespoke housing to the most vulnerable people in our society. One of our current projects is adapting a home for an individual coming from a specialist autism hospital. NHS England and the local CCG approached us to see if we could work together to provide a home that would meet the service users very specific needs. The new home is a bungalow which provides accommodation for the service user and their staff members. Work started on adapting the bungalow in April 2021.
The property has undergone extensive building work including two extensions: one down the left-hand side which extends the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom and the second one for the addition of the staff bathroom on the other side of the house. The property has under floor heating and room at the front for parking with a garden to the rear which will have a recessed trampoline.
The aim of working with NHS England and local CCG’s is to provide accommodation for people with very complex needs and we pride ourselves in the high standards we maintain and the relationships we develop throughout the process. This is highly specialised work, but one that makes a big impact on the service user, their family and support providers.
The pictures show how the internal work is progressing and we will show you the finished project soon.
