During the month of June, Care Housing Association and Treekly teamed up to complete a challenge to try and get each of our staff, family and friends to do 5000+ steps a day. This was to get us off our office chairs and out in the open to improve our health and wellbeing as well as help the environment.

Over the last 4 weeks, our Care HA Team have been turning their Footsteps into Forests with @treekly.org.  We’re absolutely delighted with the result and so impressed with the positive impact our team has had. Collectively, the Care HA Team has walked over 8 million steps and planted an incredible 1,414 trees!

These trees are planted by local people in Madagascar who are given fair-wage employment to plant AND protect these trees.

Our team has provided 14 work days, helping to lift communities out of extreme poverty. Not only that, but the trees our team have planted will capture a staggering 70 tonnes of carbon between now and 2030 – this is the same as offsetting over 20 long-haul flights from the UK to Australia!

A big well done to the Care HA Team!
